India’s tour of Australia started with its four-match test series from December 6 and India National Cricket Team took lead 1-0 in the test series after the first test.
Team India’s captain Virat Kohli became the second fastest player to score 25 Test centuries on the Day 3 of India vs Australia second test at Perth. He achieved the feat in 127 innings and is after Sir Donald Bradman who took 68 innings to achieve 25 test centuries.
Virat Kohli left Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar behind who took 130 innings to achieve the feat. Virat Kohli with his sixth Test century in Australia equaled Sachin Tendulkar’s record of most Test centuries by an Indian Down Under.
Former England skipper Michael Vaughan believes that Virat Kohli is a better batsman across three formats as compared to the legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara, and Ricky Ponting.
Michael Vaughan said that he has not seen a better player than Virat and told that he is not disrespecting Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara or Ricky Ponting but across all the three formats of the game, he has not seen anyone better than Kohli.
Michael Vaughan said, “He (Virat) has such high skill levels and an incredible mentality when it comes to dealing with the pressure of the chase. All that while dealing with a weight of expectation and adulation that only Sachin would have experienced.”
He also said, “The concern for Australia is that so far in this Test match the Indians have managed to get more uneven bounce out of the pitch than the home bowlers. The quicks seem to be getting out-bowled by this highly skilled Indian four-man attack,”.
Australian great Allan Border also praised Kohli and said, “I think by the time Kohli finishes he (could) statistically be equal or better than all those players,”.
Allan Border thinks that Kohli could surpass the likes Brian Lara, Ricky Ponting, and Sachin Tendulkar in the record books. However, Virat has already scored 62 international centuries.
